Special issue - Consultation on our Regulatory Framework

17 July 2020

Regulatory Framework consultation to respond to COVID-19

We're proposing some temporary and modest changes to our Regulatory Framework. These changes are to enable us to respond to the new challenges the COVID-19 pandemic brings.

We're proposing to adjust our regulatory approach by:

  • publishing temporary advisory guidance to support landlords to submit their Annual Assurance Statements by October this year
  • extending the time landlords have to publish information on their Charter performance to December
  • publishing the next engagement plans for all social landlords by March 2021.

The proposed changes would be in place for this financial year.

We want to hear what people think of these proposals. So, over the coming weeks, we'll be engaging with tenant groups and tenant representative bodies, landlords, landlord representatives, and others interested in our work. We will use their feedback to ensure we can continue to respond to the challenges COVID-19 brings.

We're asking for feedback by Friday 14 August 2020. You can find out more about our consultation including how to take part below.

We look forward to continuing to work with all of our stakeholders as we continue adapt to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
